Giants' Odell Beckham Jr. Makes Incredible Catch, Does Not Save His Team

New York Giant's Odell Beckham Jr. has made his case for the catch of the year, if not of the decade when he hauled in a one-handed, 50-yard pass from quarterback Eli Manning that immediately began to trend on social media sites, prompting thousands, if not millions of tweets from NFL fans and experts as well as fellow athletes and celebrities.

The catch was stunning, but it was completely out of place in a Sunday night, regular-season game pitting a 3-7 Giants team against a Dallas Cowboys contender that didn't have problems putting together a rally to overcome an 11 point deficit in the first half to beat the Giants 31-28 on Sunday Night Football and deliver the Depite the negative result for Eli Manning and the Giants, it was a hell of a catch and deserves the admiration of football fans.

The catch came on the first play of the second quarter and it gave the Giants the temporary lead over the mighty Cowboys. Beckham was going deep, Eli Manning was heaving it up in his direction, and Dallas cornerback Brandon Carr was committing a personal foul on the rookie receiver in his attempt to prevent the touchdown.

Beckham also made an acrobatic catch last week against San Francisco, and that was a mere rough draft for the 43-yard masterpiece to come. The first-round pick out of LSU already scored a touchdown against the Cowboys and had executed a ridiculous, full-extension grab by the time he found himself racing down the Giants' sideline and tracking Manning's long ball, ready to bring New York's lost season back from the dead...at least for a few minutes.

The season is over for the Giants, however, Odell Beckham Jr. is an amazing player that is far beyond his mediocre team, and to prove it, he made a regular season play that easily belonged on the first Sunday in February.
